📋 Step-by-Step Project Guide
1. Shutting angle valve & removing flush push-button
Unscrew the outer decorative ring of the Roca flush button counter-clockwise. Carefully lift off the ceramic cistern lid and set it safely on a flat blanket.
On Roca Victoria or Dama toilets, the outer chrome ring around the button unscrews by hand without requiring tools.
2. Replacing the flush silicone seal ring (Fixes continuous bowl trickle)
Twist the central Roca flush column 90° counter-clockwise to release it from the bayonet base. Remove the limescale-hardened silicone seal ring and slip on a fresh clear silicone washer.
90% of running toilets are fixed by replacing this €3 silicone washer in under 5 minutes without changing the entire flush unit.
3. Replacing the silent float inlet fill valve
Unscrew the 3/8 inch flexi-hose swivel nut. Remove the bottom retaining plastic nut securing the fill valve. Pull old valve out and fit a new Roca silent float valve, setting water fill height.
Adjust the float rod thread so water fills up to exactly 2 cm below the overflow pipe mouth.
4. Fitting monoblock basin mixer tap & flexi-hoses
Fit the rubber O-ring into tap base. Hand-tighten both 3/8 inch flexi-hoses until snug. Insert M6 threaded rod, place rubber & steel horseshoe washer underneath, then tighten 13mm nut.
NEVER wrap Teflon tape onto flexi-hose swivel nuts that contain flat EPDM rubber washers; tightening over Teflon cuts the rubber causing floods.
5. Pressurization, leak test & aerator nozzle descaling
Open angle stop valve slowly. Unscrew aerator nozzle from tap spout using a smooth-jaw wrench, rinse out trapped mineral scale, and screw back on by hand.
If the tap splutters after turning water back on, it is trapped air pockets; let water run for 30 seconds to purge lines.
